Can’t Work in the Dark

All scouts but one are pretending to do work, sweeping, shoveling, etc. One scout stands there with one arm raised high as if holding a torch.

Boss walks in and confronts the scout with the raised arm.

Boss: “I’m paying you to work, not just stand around doing nothing. Why aren’t you working?”
Scout: “I’m a lightbulb!”
Boss: “Get to work! When I get back, if you’re not working, you’re fired!”

Boss leaves, scout continues to stand with arm raised while the rest work. Boss returns and sees scout has not moved.

Boss: “That’s it! You’re fired! Get out of here!”
Scout looks sad, lowers arm, and walks off. Once scout starts walking off, the rest of the scouts stop their work, look around, and start to leave.
Boss: “Whoa! Where are you all going? Get back to work!”
One of the scouts: “How? We can’t work in the dark!”
